Review where you are for the day, what you have left to do, and what the necessities are.These items can set you apart from those around you and lead to greater success. Instead of killing time, take a moment to review the items for the meeting, whether you are giving it or just participating and be ready to be active and on point.Conscious effort to truly starting your day can make all the difference in the world, and on the days you have minimal items you get to reap the rewards. Imagine being ahead of your whole day today 5-10 minutes and the items you might get done? I like to wake up 1hr before I have to, review my emails, calendar from bed, then adjust when I get up from there. Simplest of items that can often time lead to great things.Learning to maximize the 5 minute windows you have, whether it’s for family, work or personal time to relax is the key to succeeding. Learn from that, get up earlier and attack your day, don't let the day attack you. Just think of the day you've had, the time you've squandered, the moments you've lost that you could have used?Īll those times you hit snooze, still woke up tired and were behind all day. Learning to catch ourselves and use the wasted time better leads to happiness at work, home and all around. Often times we fill our day with wasted thoughts, fears and complaining leading to the very issues we are trying to overcome. I have written on time saving ( How to Add 4 More Days to Your Year!) and this is another facet of this idea. The truth is what are we getting for those extra minutes and more importantly what are we losing? Ask yourself if you’re using your time wisely, if you know starting your day 30 minutes earlier to beat traffic and be more efficient, then why don't you? What keeps you from following through on the 5 minutes that will save your day? Many of us fall pray to the "snooze" mentality of just 5 more minutes. Type in the Snooze field for a custom snooze interval or reminder time.The beauty and disaster that can be 5 more minutes and how we do use is the difference between success, stress and failure. Various special days are also recognized so you can type: 3 days before Christmas. This method is also great when you want to reorganize your left over reminders at the end of the week and set a new day that you will get your reminder to complete a certain task or to follow up on the flagged email. Instead, you’ll then have to type: next Wednesday. Note: When it is also Wednesday, typing “Wednesday” will result in an error. To easily snooze it to that specific day, I simply type for instance “Wednesday” in the Snooze field. Now, when the reminder pops-up, I usually know which day I’ll handle that task. I do know that I will do it in the week that it is due so I set my reminder a week in advance. You can also type a specific time that you want to be reminder on again. This can be any custom interval that you want in minutes, hours, days, weeks and even months or years. To set a custom snooze time in the Reminder window, simply type in the Snooze field. However, it is not possible to have any custom snooze interval stay permanent in the list to choose from. It is possible to snooze by a custom interval other than the ones that have been predefined (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, etc…).
